Animal Sculpting Workshop

Enhance your sculpting skills, explore the beauty of animal form and make an emotional connection with your subject under the expert guidance of the artist Sheila Verseck.

Quadrupeds: Sculpting Four-Legged Animals in Clay

Bring your favorite four-legged animal to life in clay in this immersive 3-day workshop led by the expert sculptor Sheila Verseck. Whether you choose to sculpt a horse, dog, cat, or another quadruped, Sheila will guide you through every step—from designing a dynamic pose and understanding anatomy of the chosen animal to refining proportions and making artistic stylistic choices.

The unique approach adopted by the teacher combines principles from animation and classical sculpture, emphasizing the strength of the gesture and the use of simple primitive shapes to construct the animal figure.

This year’s workshop will include a group visit to Berlin's Natural History Museum, offering participants an in-depth exploration of animal natural history, anatomy, and the inspiration these remarkable creatures provide.
