Our Weekly Portrait Sculpting Workshop is designed for anyone who wants to learn figurative sculpture in a focused and inspiring environment with a schedule that fits easily into weekly life. Held once a week on Tuesday evenings at the Berlin Sculpture Atelier, the course guides participants through the process of sculpting a life-size portrait in clay from a life model.

Portrait sculpture is one of the most rewarding ways to develop artistic skill and observation. Working from life helps artists better understand the structure, proportions, and character of the human face while building confidence in their own creative expression.

Throughout the course, participants learn the fundamentals of portrait sculpting, including head anatomy, proportions, volume, composition, and techniques for observing and translating form into clay. The workshop is led by Alexandra Slava, founder and principal instructor of the Berlin Sculpture Atelier, whose clear step-by-step teaching method makes figurative sculpture approachable, practical, and enjoyable for all levels.

Each session includes demonstrations, individual feedback, and guided instruction in a small-group setting, ensuring personal attention and steady progress over time. The weekly format allows participants to learn at a comfortable pace while balancing work, studies, or other commitments.
