Portrait Sculpting

A perfect introduction to the world of sculpting, suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, our weekly evening course offers a unique opportunity to learn the essential skills of portrait sculpting.

Conducted over three consecutive Tuesday evenings, the course focuses on sculpting a realistic portrait in clay using high-quality photographic references provided by us. Alternatively, participants may bring or create their own references of a friend, loved one, or famous person they would like to sculpt. Detailed instructions on how to create high-quality photographic references in preparation for the class are available upon request.

The course begins with an extensive lecture covering everything one needs to know: from essential tools and materials to the structure and anatomy of the human head, as well as advanced sculpting techniques designed to help you create a lifelike depiction of your chosen subject.

Small group sizes and regular individualized feedback ensure an enjoyable and effective learning environment.

The resulting sculpture can be preserved through kiln firing at a reasonable cost at our partner ceramic studio in Berlin, or molded and cast as part of our additional Molding and Casting Course, which can be scheduled individually according to your availability after the class.
